In 1994, M·A·C introduced VIVA GLAM, an outspoken deep red that was universal in appeal and glamour. In 1997, a second lipstick was created VIVA GLAM II, a pinked mauve. VIVA GLAM III, a foxy brown plum launched in 2000. VIVA GLAM IV, a heartful rose charged with gold, introduced in March 2002. In March 2004, Viva Glam V makes its debut, a pure neutral pink with a delicious Lustre finish! VIVA GLAM VI, the newest member of the VIVA GLAM family, is a warm terracotta-plum with pearl finish. Wear it alone or finish it off with a coat of VIVA GLAM VI Lipglass. There are currently 6 permanent lipstick shades in the MAC Viva Glam line. This review is for Viva Glam V–a neutral pink with pearl.
Viva Glam lipsticks come in regular MAC lipstick tubes. The only difference is that the inner tube and outer MAC logo are red.
I personally think Viva Glam V is the prettiest of the available Viva Glam shades. It is a neutral pink that would work with any skin tone and shade. Being a lustre lipstick, it gives off a beautiful, subtle sheen because it contains a ton of microscopic shimmers. The color isn’t dense, so you can wear it in any context.
The formula is smooth and emollient, giving plenty of moisture to the lips. It doesn’t accent lip lines.
The color lasts a standard amount of time: about 3 hours before needing re-application.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
This lipstick glides on easily and can be layered for a slightly more intense finish.
This lipstick costs the same as MAC’s other permanent lipsticks. The difference is that all the proceeds from this lipstick go to the MAC AIDS Fund.
