For Summer 2012, Maybelline is adding 2 bronzing colors to its Dream Bouncy line: Glistening Sun and Sun Glow. These have the same form-factor and formula as Maybelline’s recently released Dream Bouncy Blushes.
These blushes come in compacts with snap-shut lids. The pans themselves are dome-shaped. The packaging is light-weight and ideal for carrying in a makeup bag.
These are extremely soft-to-the-touch, just like the blushes are. The pans will deform under pressure and don’t quite “bounce” back to their original form.
The formula is smooth and feels like a mousse with a powdery finish. Both colors are pigmented and very shimmery, making them great for using as a bronzer on the cheeks, but not as all-over face bronzers.
Glistening Sun is a medium, yellow-based gold. Sun Glow is a light bronze-brown.
You get decent wear out of these colors–about 4-5 hours before the color starts to fade.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
These are best applied with a small, rounded blush or highlighting brush. But they require more pressure to spread the product than other cream blushes.
You get 5.6 grams of product for around $9. Revlon’s Cream Blushes retail at a similar price-point but only contain 3.4 grams. NYX Cream Blushes cost $6.50 and contain 5.3 grams.
