Milani’s newest Illuminating Face Powders for Spring 2012 come in 3 shades. The shade Amber Nectar is reviewed, below. You can also read the review for Hermosa Rose here.
Packaging: 9.25/10
Milani’s Illuminating Face Powders come in large, plastic compacts with snap-shut lids that allow you to see the product inside.
The pan is embossed with little rose-shaped circles in various colors.
Quality: 8.75/10
Amber Nectar consists of 5 different colors: a cream, a gold, a bronze, a taupe, and a coral. You can use the colors individually, but you will more likely be mixing them together, which will give you an apricot-toned copper.
The pan has very finely-milled shimmers that correspond to each of the 5 colors, giving the product its luminizing effect.
The formula has medium softness and is slightly dusty.
For an illuminator, Amber Nectar has good pigmentation. It could be used as a cheek color for a wide range of skin tones and is a great color for Spring and Summer.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
The colors mix easily and the product transfers onto the skin well without needing to do much layering. You can use the colors individually, but you’ll need to be very careful with a normal-sized eye shadow brush or use a smaller brush.
Price: 9.25/10
For around $10 you get 10 grams (0.35 fl oz) of product. Compared to other drugstore powder illuminators, Milani’s gives you more product for the price you pay.
Looking at the colours I thought they would be too dark for my skin tone but your swatch has changed my mind! I like the sun-kissed glow this product seems to give.
This will very well suit my skin tone, love the embellishments and swatch.
Wow, this powder is very beautiful! I wished we had Milani products in Québec. :/ I’ve seem some at Maxi&cie, but none of the new releases. Thank you for this review!
