Company’s Description

Reusable, magnetic 4-well empty color palette can be customized with your favorite Eye Colour shades.

Alluring array of intense shimmer, sheen and matte pressed mineral eye shadows.

Mirabella is a mineral-based cosmetics brand. The company offers 36 different Eye Colour shades and and additional 12 matte shades. The 4-well palette is sold separately. This particular pre-made palette in Vintage Modern isn’t currently sold, but you can put together the same 4 shadows yourself, or choose any other shades that Mirabella offers. The shades in this palette are:

  • Darling: matte light pink
  • Sweet Pea: blue green sheen
  • Sienna: cool medium brown sheen
  • Vintage: red/violet sheen

L'Occitane

Packaging: 9.25/10

This palette comes in a sturdy but light-weight, steel grey, plastic palette that snaps securely shut and has a full-length mirror inside. The wells inside are large enough and spaced far enough apart that you don’t have to worry about colors transferring into adjacent wells. The pans do jiggle around in their wells, though.

Quality: 8.75/10

Darling is a cream-colored, matte white. Although there is technically the slightest hint of pink in the pan, it won’t show up on the skin. Sweet Pea is a shimmery olive green. Sienna is a medium, cool-toned brown with a sheen finish. Vintage is a shimmery, maroon-based brown.

The formula has medium softness, with Sienna and Vintage being softer and more crumbly than the other colors. All the colors have very decent payoff and pigmentation. Sweet Pea, of the 4 colors, has the weakest pigmentation.

These shadows layer very well, so even if the pigmentation isn’t as strong as you’d like at first, you can get a pretty intense finish with layering.

Ease of Use: 8.75/10

Sweet Pea and Vintage show a bit of unevenness when initially applied but all of the colors can be built up with some layering.

Price: 8.5/10

For $10.00, you get 2 grams (0.07 ounces) of shadow in each pan. MAC’s eyeshadow refill pans cost $11.50 each and contain 1.5 grams (0.05 ounces), so you get a better deal with Mirabella singles. On the other hand, MAC’s 4-well palettes are only $7.00 each, so you pay much more with Mirabella.

Overall, you pay $53.00 for a MAC quad including shadows and $57.00 for a Mirabella quad.

Did they just come out with these it seems more fall appropriate =)

  2. What I do like about this is the packaging. The shadows doesn’t appeal much to me.
