The ultimate authority in blush, NARS offers the industry’s most iconic shades for cheeks. Natural, healthy-looking color that immediately enlivens the complexion. A light application of even the highest-intensity hues delivers a natural-looking flush.
NARS is famous for its blushes, which come in over two dozen different shades. This review is for the shade Madly–a warm soft-focus seashell pink.
The NARS Blush packaging is made of NARS’ classic rubberized black plastic and has a lid with a mirror inside that snaps shut. The outside of the packaging is a magnet for powder products, which makes it difficult to keep clean.
Madly is the type of color you could throw in your makeup kit and use on almost anyone. It brings life to the skin, but isn’t pink (despite NARS’ color description), red, or brown. It’s simply a natural, nude color with barely a hint of silver shimmer.
The formula is also wonderful. The powder has just enough softness to pick up easily onto a brush and blend out smoothly over the skin. It isn’t dusty, chalky, or crumbly. The color has good pigmentation and can be worn in a sheer, single layer or built up for a more intense finish.
I don’t have problems with the color fading as the day goes on. Madly is one of the easiest colors to wear. If I can’t decide what blush to use that day, am unsure how a blush color will go with what I’m wearing, or am simply in a rush and can’t take the time to think about color-matching, I can slap on Madly and not worry about it clashing with anything.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
The powder applies evenly and doesn’t need buffing to make smooth. The powder layers effectively and the nude shade is almost fool-proof to apply.
For $28.00 you get 0.16 ounces (4.8 grams) of blush. You actually get more blush for the price compared to Make Up For Ever and Bobbi Brown blushes.
