The ultimate authority in blush, NARS offers the industry’s most iconic shades for cheeks. Natural, healthy-looking color that immediately enlivens the complexion. A light application of even the highest-intensity hues delivers a natural-looking flush.
NARS’ famous blushes now come in over 2-dozen shades. The color Outlaw, which NARS describes as a soft rose with golden shimmer, is newly released as part of the company’s Fall 2012 collection. This shade is currently sold exclusively through NARS.
The NARS Blush packaging is made of NARS’ classic rubberized black plastic and has a lid with a mirror inside that snaps shut. The outside of the packaging is a magnet for powder products, which makes it difficult to keep clean.
Outlaw looks very strong in the pan. And when heavily swatched, Outlaw is a dark, rosy red with finely-milled gold shimmer.
But when you apply this to the cheeks, the pigmentation is sheer, which ends up being a good thing. Outlaw gives a deep, but translucent flush of color to the cheeks. The finish looks matte, too, unless you’re in the sun or apply multiple layers. You can definitely build up the color to look more like what you see in the pan by applying a few layers.
The formula is very slightly on the dry side, but blends over the skin evenly. The color maintained its pigmentation throughout the day.
Ease of Use: 9/10
This blush is quite easy to use because of its surprisingly sheer application. The powder blends out evenly and layers gradually.
For $28.00 you get 0.16 ounces (4.8 grams) of blush. You actually get more blush for the price compared to Make Up For Ever and Bobbi Brown blushes.
