Modern, unique, sometimes unexpected color combinations of eyeshadow shades. Worn alone or together, all Duo Eyeshadow shades feature micro-fine powders that are highly pigminted, longwearing and crease resistant. Color glides on smoothly, evenly and blends effortlessly. The effects can be subtle or smoldering — the options are endless.
NARS’ Duo Eyeshadow in Exotic Dance contains a metallic white with a silver sheen and a metallic gold. Keep reading for photos, swatches, and my thoughts on the quality of this duo.
The NARS Duo Eyeshadow packaging is made of NARS’ classic rubberized black plastic and has a lid with a mirror inside that snaps shut. The outside of the packaging is a magnet for powder products, which makes it difficult to keep clean.
On the left, Exotic Dance contains a semi-translucent, frosty white with a frost finish. On the right is a semi-translucent, pale, “dirty” gold with a frost finish. Both sides have decent but not great pigmentation. The formula is also a tad stiffer than other NARS shadows I’ve tested.
The formula lasted a shorter than average amount of time–about two and a half (2.5) hours before creasing over a bare lid and after about four (4) hours over primer. The colors also lost their vibrancy around the four (4) hour mark.
Ease of Use: 9/10
These colors are easy to use because of their semi-translucent quality. And, despite being a bit on the stiff side, they blend out well.
For $34.00 you get 0.14 ounces (4 grams) of shadow. NARS’ single shadows cost $24.00 and contain half the amount of product, so you are getting a good deal for your money by investing in the Duos.
