A Long lasting, mousse textured, cream eye-shadow that is simple to blend and will not crease.
Here is the second review for the Globetrotting series!
This review is for one of New CID’s i-colour Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadows. New CID is a UK-based brand that is sold online and at select boutique stores in the United Kingdom.
The i-colour Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadows currently come in 8 shades. This review is for the shade Purple Quartz–a light, slate purple with rainbow micro-shimmer.
The i-colour shadows come in plastic jars and have twist-off tops.
Purple Quartz is a very pretty color. It’s a pale, completely wearable purple color because it has a grey base and starts out very sheer.
The product has a whipped-mousse consistency that is extremely light. It goes on very smoothly.
The shadow doesn’t last as long as I’d like it to, though. Regardless of whether it was worn over primer or not, the shadow began to crease after 2.5-3 hours of wear. Now, because the color is sheer in the crease, it’s not too noticeable, but you can see it if you know what to look for.
I’d suggest wearing this color only on the lid. The color retained its vibrancy throughout the day–over 6 hours of wear.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
This product doesn’t really do well under a fluffy brush through the blending process. The box says to use an eye shadow brush to apply the shadow to the lid, starting at the lash line and blend upward to the socket line.
I found the best way to use this product is to apply it to the lid with a flat, dense brush. You can intensify the color with layers and drag the shadow upward into the crease. It will be very sheer in the socket.
For £14.00 (approximately $22.00) you get 5 grams (0.18 ounces) of product. This is a good amount of product within the typical price-range for a mid-to-high-end brand.
