Revlon ColorBurst Lip gloss for lips that shine with killer color. This weightless gloss makes lips pop with 5X more shine than patent leather
Revlon’s Holiday 2012 Collection–Just Add Sparkle–includes three new, limited-edition shades of ColorBurst Lipgloss: Tinsel Town Hollywood, All That Glitters and Brilliant Bordeaux.
This post reviews the color Tinsel Town Hollywood, which is a clear gloss with multi-colored shimmer.
If you’d like to see photos and swatches of all three (3) colors, please see this post.
Revlon’s ColorBurst Lipglosses come in clear, rectangular, plastic tubes. The twist-off handle is connected to a pinched, doe-foot applicator.
The formula for this gloss is pretty thin but not watery. It’s not entirely slick, but it’s not sticky either. It has some emollience and brings a little bit of moisture to the lips.
Tinsel Town Hollywood is a clear gloss filled with multi-colored shimmer that flashes silver, gold, and pink. The color is subtly festive and can be worn alone or over a lipstick. But, honestly, I don’t find it to be particularly unique or special.
You can feel the gritty shimmer particles in this gloss when you rub or press your lips together.
The gloss lasts about two and a half (2.5) hours on my lips before I want to re-apply. The gloss also is not transfer-resistant, so it will get on anything your lips touch (cups, straws, significant others, etc.) The shimmer particles also like to travel a little as the gloss wears off, so check for specks of shimmer around your mouth.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
This gloss glides over the skin without significant tugging. The clear nature of the color also makes application easy. Removing the gloss and its shimmer particles takes a little more work than usual, though.
I purchased my gloss for around around $9.00. The gloss contains 0.2 ounces (5.9 ml). This is an average amount of product for a gloss and a slightly higher than average price-point.
