Company’s Description
It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood.
Revlon’s newest hot lip item is its Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, which the company markets as a cross between a lip balm and a lip stain. There are a total of 12 shades available, all of which you can see here.
This review is specifically for the shade Smitten–a medium berry color.
Packaging: 9.75/10
The Balm Stains come in pencil form with bases that twist to reveal more product. The packaging is made of plastic.

Smitten is a bright, but still wearable, berry pink with no shimmers.
This is a great balm-equivalent of a lipstick. Smitten has a glossy finish but doesn’t have the thickness of a lipgloss. The formula is very moisturizing and has no stickiness or tackiness. The product is smooth over the lips and makes them feel soft. The formula is emollient and the color doesn’t emphasize lip lines.
So far, Smitten has been the longest-wearing color of the entire Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains collection. It lasted on my lips for around 5 hours and leaves a very strong stain that was still noticeable by the time I went to bed. And this is all with eating, drinking, and talking throughout the day!
The product has peppermint oil in the ingredients and I did feel a very slight sensation for the first 30 seconds of wear. But it dissipates afterwards.
I do not personally have the Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms, but from what I can tell, they aren’t a duplicate for Revlon’s Balm Stains because Clinique’s product doesn’t stain the lips. I do have all of Tarte’s LipSurgence Lip Luster Tints. I like the Revlon Balm Stains a tad more. They are more moisturizing (not to mention a lot cheaper!). As you can see from the comparison swatches, the closest color in Tarte’s line is Amused, which still isn’t a dupe for Smitten.
Ease of Use: 9.8/10
There’s really nothing to application. Just color over the lips like you would with a crayon! The pencil form allows you to be precise and the balm formula glides without resistance over the skin. You do have to apply this color a more slowly because the pigmentation is very strong, so a less-than-smooth line will be noticed.
Price: 9.25/10
For under $9.00 you get 0.095 ounce of product. Tarte’s Lip Luster Tints are $24.00 and contain 0.10 ounce each. Clinique’s Chubby Sticks are $16.00 and contain 0.10 ounce.
I want to say that your awesome! it’s a hard work with that perfect blog and swatches. i appreciate this! and also it is very helpfull to me. i wanna ask you, are smitten has blue – blueish undertones?
thank you for really hard work for us!
I wouldn’t really say that. But it’s a berry shade, so it is pink/purple. I guess in that sense (since purple has blue in it), it’s technically got “blue” in the shade.
thank you for the answer:)
I love your reviews. For some reason they seem the most “real” to me. Plus, I usually agree with your reviews. Keep doing what you’re doing! This is now my favorite makeup review site.
Aww, that makes me very happy! I’m really glad you like them.
