Company’s Description
Rimmel introduces Glam¿ Eyes HD, Rimmel’s first creamy powder eyeshadow with Velvet-HD technology creates colour that looks perfect under any light. Prismatic pigments catch light at multiple angles, reflecting the ideal colour for the light you are in. Unique palettes of 4 shades expertly coordinated to work in sequence, adapting as light changes to give perfectly complementary effect in any light. Crease-proof colour lasts all day.
Rimmel’s new Glam Eyes HD Eyeshadow Quads are available in 8 different shade combinations. Each includes 4 shades and is designed in the form of the British flag–perfectly in the spirit of the Olympic games!
This review is for the quad in True Union Jack, which includes a pale magenta pink, a royal blue, a frosty white, and a black.
Packaging: 9/10
These quads come in square, plastic compacts with see-through, snap shut lids. Each also comes with a duo-ended sponge-tip applicator. The wells inside divide each color along the shapes that make up the British flag.
Quality: 9.25/10
All 4 of the colors in this quad are richly pigmented and vibrant. I am especially surprised by how pigmented the white shade is. All the colors glide over the skin like butter, in a smooth and even manner. The entire quad has shimmer in it and each color gives off a healthy dose of frosty sheen.
The formula is very soft, so the shadows transfer onto the skin effortlessly and blend out very quickly while still maintaining their vibrancy. I didn’t have any problems with the shadows creating fall-out.
The colors also wear well. Without primer, the shades began to fade after 3.5 hours and started to crease after about 4 hours. With primer, the colors stayed vibrant for the first 4 hours and stayed crease-free for at least 6 hours.
Ease of Use: 9/10
These colors glide onto and across the skin effortlessly. Be careful to blend with a light hand. The formula is so soft that using the same amount of force you would with your typical shadow to blend will end up over-blending this product.
I’ll also note that it’s difficult to get your brush into the colors in the corners. The wells are tiny and just barely fit the tip of a pointed/rounded eyeshadow brush.
Price: 9/10
For about $6.00 you get 4 colors for a total of 0.14 ounces (4.2 grams) of product, which is a typical amount of product and price-point for a drugstore eye shadow quad.
