These eye colour duos feature a water resistant, highly pigmented cream eye shadow and a pearlescent setting powder in a double decked pot. Glide the cream eye colour over lids for a wash of beautiful colour and then finish with a layer of shimmering powder to enhance and magnify the colour. Each duo comes complete with a dual ended, retractable eye shadow brush too and they are available in six different colour combinations.
RMK is a Japanese brand that can be readily purchased by customers at BeautyBay.com. This review is for RMK’s Dusty Bright Eyes, which includes a cream color and a powder color.
The Dusty Bright Eyes comes in a reflective, silver, plastic, double-deck jar. The lip twists off to reveal the cream liner and the jar twists to reveal the powder shadow.
The cream liner is a medium grey with tiny silver sparkles in it. The color is not opaque and the shimmer particles don’t really show up on the lid when used as a liner. This isn’t an impressive cream liner. It doesn’t layer well and actually lifts off if you try to add liner on top of it to deepen the color.
The eye shadow, on the other hand, is gorgeous. It doesn’t look like much when swatched and I actually thought it would look terrible on the lid because the formula is very dry and somewhat grainy. But once it’s actually blended onto the lid, it is the perfect holiday shade of gold shimmer. It’s not an opaque color, but leaves a beautiful, subtle shimmer on the lid. The other wonderful thing about the shadow is how long it lasts without creasing. I tested the shade both over a primer and bare lid. Either way, there was no noticeable creasing even after eight (8) hours of wear.
RMK suggest you can use the cream liner as a base for the gold eye shadow, but I found the combination very unflattering.
Ease of Use: 8.5/10
The gel liner is a bit frustrating to use because it doesn’t apply an opaque line. The shadow, on the other hand, blends onto the skin beautifully and can be layered over a base if you want.
The product is definitely expensive. To be fair, though, the price is inflated when you purchase Asian beauty products online.
