Company’s Description
Vivacious, radiant, and enticing—experience this luxurious collection of gorgeous formulas that are sure to brighten your look and your mood. This expansive set of six is ideal for creating a full face that beams with a spirited, enlightened glow. Flush the apples of your cheeks with the warm hue, give your smile a juicy shimmer, and your eyes an energetic pop of color with this set, all inspired by the exuberant Color of the Year—Tangerine Tango. Each product is housed in an ultra-sleek architectural design as a nod to the iconic Pantone chip, making this collection both a stylish and exotic addition to your makeup bag.
Sephora has partnered with Pantone for a collection featuring the “Color of the Year”: Tangerine Tango. This review is for the Color of the Year Collector’s Edition Set, which includes 6 items from the collection.
In this review, I talk about my thoughts on this product as a set. If you would like to read the reviews for each individual product, they are available as follows:
- Eyeshadow Quad
- Eyeliner in “Tangerine Tango Twist”
- Prisma Chrome Blush in “Apricot Brandy”
- Blush Duo
- Lipstick in “Tangerine Tango Cream”
- Lipgloss in “Tangerine Tango Luminous”
Packaging: 9/10
This set comes in a box made of heavy, smooth cardboard. It is durable but definitely not travel-friendly. The box is huge, sitting at about 16 inches by 8 inches. The lid opens up like a book, closes via a magnet, and has a little fabric tab to open.
Each product has its own well inside the box. There is a semi-circle hole next to each item to help you get it out of the well, but I found they were small and made it a little difficult to pry the items out.
Quality: 8.75/10
Given the quality of each individual item, I think this is a good, but not fantastic set.
Both lip products, while having great pigmentation, have a strong, bothersome, sweet scent. Both blush products left me wanting more pigmentation. The eyeshadow quad’s 2 dark colors didn’t apply opaquely, though the other 2 colors are great. The eye liner is probably the highest-quality product in this set, giving vibrant color and completely budge-proof application.
Ease of Use: 8.5/10
The biggest barrier to easy use for this set is the need to layer many of the products (the eye shadows and blushes).
Price: 9.8/10
If you were to buy these products individually, you would pay over $100. As long as you like at least 4 of these products, you are much better off buying the set as opposed to the items individually.
