Sleek MakeUP’s Nude collection wraps up your autumn beauty look in one warm, earthy and wearable collection. The Au Naturel i-Divine provides an array of matte and pearlescent eye shadows providing a subtle yet contoured effect for day, that can be built up for a smoky glamorous effect using velvety browns and shimmering fawns.
Sleek’s well-known i-Divine eye shadow palettes contain 12 colors. The Au Naturel palette was released with Sleek’s Nude collection and is reviewed, below.
This palette comes in “sleek” black packaging and contains a very convenient full-sized mirror inside the lid. The palette is light-weight.
The formula for the shadows is very soft; so soft, in fact, that some of the colors (mostly the matte ones) are somewhat dusty.
In the swatches below, you can tell that the matte colors in the first row appear quite washed-out, almost like watercolor on paper. The mattes from the second row are much more opaque and strong. This worried me when I was initially swatching the colors. But I actually found that when you use the mattes on the lid, the look like regular, high-quality matte shadows would. So don’t let the swatches fool you–these are all-around beautiful matte colors, despite initially looking weak in the swatches. I do wish some of the mattes (Nougat and Regal) applied more evenly.
The metallic colors are phenomenal. They are intense, pigmented, and opaque. They apply evenly. Taupe is the stand-out color, due to its high-voltage shine.
The formula wears well too. I found these shadows resist creasing for 2-3 hours longer than most of my other high-quality shadows. Unless you’re someone who wears makeup for more than 12 hours a day, you shouldn’t have to worry about these colors creasing or fading over a primer.
Ease of Use: 10/10
This is how I’ve always imagined a dream formula applying (not to be dramatic or anything!). Sometimes, when shadows are really soft (like these Sleek shadows), it can hinder application because the powder crumbles too easily and doesn’t stick to the skin during the blending process. But I encountered no such hurdles with this palette. The formula is buttery but also adheres to the skin and sinks into it as you blend out the color.
For $10.50 you get 12 colors for a total of 13.2 grams (0.36 ounces) of shadow. You are paying $0.80 per gram of product.
