Company’s Description
Sula Beauty offers playfully pretty lip & cheek tints in gorgeous on-trend colors that are long lasting, moisturizing and made with natural ingredients
Sula is an Ulta-exclusive brand. It is probably best know for selling its makeup items at $8.00, regardless of which you buy. Its line of Lip and Cheek Tints is reviewed here in the shades: Dreamy, Feels Like Fireworks, I Saw Him First, and It’s Not Me It’s You.
Packaging: 9/10
Sula’s Lip and Cheek Tints come in plastic twist-up tubes that have snap-on caps.
Quality: 8.25/10
I Saw Him First is a blue-based pink. It’s Not Me It’s You is a peachy-coral. Feels Like Fireworks is a medium, slightly-orange-based red. Dreamy is a light brown.
All of the colors have strong pigmentation.
The consistency is on the thick side and the formula feels a bit oily. After application, the product leaves a sheen to the skin, so if you have oily skin already, I wouldn’t invest in these.
This gives good color to the lips too. The formula isn’t particularly moisturizing or drying.
You get a light staining of the skin, which you’ll see when you try to remove the product. It’s nothing intense, but is good for leaving a hint of color behind even after the product itself has worn off.
Ease of Use: 8.5/10
The thicker consistency of these tints means you’ll have to spend more time blending to get the finish even. You should also set with a powder to reduce the sheen the product leaves on the skin. If you are using these on your lips, you can just apply with your fingers.
Price: 8.25/10
For $8.00, you get 0.21 ounces (6 grams) of product. Tarte Cheek Stains cost $30.00 and contain 1 ounce (28.4 grams) of product. You actually get more for your money with Tarte stains.
would you describe this product as creamy?
Yes, but it is also a little oily. I wouldn’t say it’s moisturizing.
I havent checked your other posts but after finding a link to this page when I searched “sula swatches” in google, I have to say you did an awesome review job. I never comment on anything but just wanted to show my appreciation for a job well done. Some reviews lack pictures and opinions and straight-forwardness but you did so great! keep it up!
Thanks! I was searching for photos and reviews of Sula products myself and was having trouble finding any, which is part of the reason I did these posts.
Those are beautiful colors ! I think Imma go buy all 4 of them ! ;P
Plus, I love the dreamy one, somewhat + the firework one
Thank you for posting swatches! I’ve been looking for swatches since they were released! They look very interesting. I think I’ll purchase one on my next trip to Ulta.
You’re welcome! I too was looking for comprehensive swatches and didn’t find much. So I’m glad it helped.
I don’t quite like the brown one (it looks too brown, and then it blends away to nothing)…and too bad about the oiliness. They look so cute though! I suppose you can use them quickly enough so they don’t dry out, though the Tarte ones are better value.
I Saw Him First is pretty! I love the price & the cute packaging.
