Company’s Description

Like airbrushed foundation without the air! Achieve total skin balance thanks to this Amazonian clay-powered foundation. Whether your skin is oily, dry, or combination, skin-smart Amazonian clay will intuitively adjust to address your complexion concerns. This revolutionary foundation also reduces the appearance of pores, while minimizing discolorations and imperfections to ensure a perfectly flawless complexion. Get 12 hours of flawless coverage with this long-wearing UVA/UVB SPF 15 formula. With a weightless texture this buildable and blendable, everyone can achieve skin that looks healthy and natural.

Tarte’s newest foundation contains Amazonian Clay, has an SPF of 15, and is available in 8 shades. My shade is Light, which is pictured below.

Naturopathica Valentine's Day

Packaging: 9.75/10

This foundation comes in a plastic squeeze tube, which does a good job of keeping use both clean and sanitary.

Quality: 9.75/10

The shade Light fits NC20-25 skin well. This foundation has a mousse-like consistency with medium thickness and gives medium-to-full coverage.

The formula does a good job of keeping oiliness in check. I don’t have to set this foundation with powder like I do with almost all foundations. It isn’t very moisturizing, so if you have dry skin, opt for something more watery. This wears very well, without any notable fading throughout the day.

What I like most about this foundation is that it gives you great coverage without looking like a mask. When I was in college, my favorite full-coverage foundation was Revlon’s ColorStay foundation because it covered so well. Tarte’s Amazonian Clay foundation gives almost the same kind of coverage while still looking natural.

Even better, it has an SPF 15 with full-spectrum UVA and UVB protection!

Ease of Use: 9.5/10

This foundation is best applied with a dense brush. You can also use your fingers, but because this isn’t a liquid foundation, a brush blends the product more quickly. The foundation will blend nicely and layer effectively.

Price: 9.5/10

For $38.00, you get 50 ml (1.7 fl oz) of foundation. MAC’s Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 Foundation costs $30.00 and contains 30 ml (1 fl oz). Even though $38.00 may seem on the expensive side, you are actually paying less when you account for how much product you’re getting.
