Ideal for creating a soft or smoky look, micronized Amazonian clay intensifies color pigments while working to nourish lids, reduce surface oil, and improve overall texture. Natural carnauba wax acts as a built-in shadow primer to ensure smooth application by softening the skin and increasing hydration.
Tarte’s new Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Eyeshadows come in 5 shades. They are reviewed, below, in the following colors:
- Slate: shimmering silver
- Seashell Pink: seashell pink
- Plum Smoke: shimmering plum
- Shimmering Bronze: shimmering bronze
- Shimmering Moss: shimmering dark green
These shadows come in glass jars with twist-off lids.
Slate is a shimmery champagne. Shimmering Bronze is more brown than bronze. Otherwise, Tarte’s color descriptions are accurate. Slate, Seashell Pink, and Shimmering Moss have clearly shimmery finishes. Plum Smoke and Shimmering Bronze have more matte finishes.
The shimmery colors go on more smoothly and opaquely while Plum Smoke and Shimmering Bronze need more layering to smooth out the finish and intensify the color.
Overall, all the colors have good color payoff.
The formula is smooth, though Plum Smoke and Shimmering Bronze are slightly more dry.
These dry after several seconds and become very smudge-resistant (not smudge-proof) and are definitely waterproof.
Ease of Use: 9/10
These apply over the skin without tugging or skipping. The drier formulas will need more layers.
