Brighten up! Infused with pure maracuja oil, this brightening cheek tint is loaded with antioxidant-rich nutrients. Effortlessly dab and blend the gel-like texture to the apples of your cheeks to experience the true uniqueness and the cooling sensation of the pure undiluted maracuja in this blush.
Tarte’s new Maracuja Cheek Tints come in 4 shades. They are reviewed, below, in the following colors:
- Deep Berry
- Light Nectar
- Light Pink
- Sheer Red
Packaging: 8.25/10
Tarte’s Maracuja Cheek Tints come in small, air-tight bottles with pump applicators. I love that these are in vacuum-sealed packaging, which keeps the product sanitary, but I wish the pump allowed you to dispense a smaller amount of product.
Quality: 9.75/10
All 4 colors have great pigmentation and can be worn with a single layer for a sheer look or layered for intense color.
The formula is a thin gel. It’s not as thin as Benefit’s Benetint, but isn’t as thick as a traditional cream blush. The formula blends over the skin effortlessly.
This product should really be called a stain. And I find it strange that Tarte makes no claims on its website about how long-wearing these are. The color physically stains the skin. Even after scrubbing the swatches with a makeup wipe, then using a waterproof makeup remover, and then using olive oil to try to remove the color, you could still see where I’d swatched the product on my skin.
The result is no different when you apply the colors to your cheeks. These are mind-blowingly long-wearing and will absolutely stay on your cheeks the whole day. Just remember that if you only want the color on your face for a few hours, you may not be able to be rid of it for an entire 24-hr period.
Ease of Use: 9/10
These blend over and set into the skin very easily. The colors also layer effectively, giving you the flexibility of wearing the product with varying degrees of intensity. The major struggle you will have is if you want to remove the color. Don’t expect the color to go away for at least a full day.
Price: 8.75/10
For $25.00 you get 0.35 ounces (9.8 grams) of product. Benefit’s Benetint costs $29.00 and contains 0.42 ounces.
These are great for on the beach!
Ha, scary-long wear! I think I’d be too afraid to use them, in case I made a mistake! But I guess if I was very careful and used a single layer…
