TheBalm Down Boy adds just the right amount of pink to cheeks. The formula is paraben free and made of fine-graded powder, which helps to provide an even and smooth texture to the skin. The light-reflecting particles give off an aura of elegance that’s sure to get you noticed.
This review is for theBalm’s blush in Down Boy–a soft, cool-toned, carnation pink. This review focuses on Down Boy’s quality and performance as a blush, though the company states it can also be used as an eye shadow.
This blush comes in a square compact made of thick cardboard with a magnetic closure and a mirror inside the lid. The lid doesn’t stay upright on its own, but since this packaging fits in your palm, this shouldn’t be too much of a problem. The compact is housed in a sleeve designed exactly like the compact itself.
This blush has fantastic pigmentation. Just 2 light dabs of your brush over the pan will give you a strong flush of color on the cheeks. The blush leaves the slightest sheen on the skin, so even though the color is matte, it doesn’t look flat or dry.
The formula is also wonderful–it’s soft and almost creamy. The blush easily transfers onto the skin without being dusty or powdery.
Like with most blushes from theBalm I’ve used, the wear time on Down Boy is great. I can wear it all day without seeing any fading.
Ease of Use: 10/10
This powder transfers effortlessly onto the skin. You can sheer out the color by using a fan brush or layer it for an intense finish.
