To Tom Ford, there is no more dramatic accessory than a perfect lip. It is the focus of the face and it has the power to define a woman’s whole look. Each Lip Color is Tom Ford’s modern ideal of an essential makeup shade. Rare and exotic ingredients including soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomile flower oil create an ultra-creamy texture with an incredibly smooth application. Specially treated color pigments are blended to deliver pure color with just the right balance of luminosity.
Tom Ford has a relatively new makeup line that currently includes 18 lipstick shades. The lipstick shade in Pink Dusk–a soft, slightly dusty pinky-nude–is reviewed below.
Tom Ford lipsticks come in extremely sleek and sophisticated packaging. The tubes are made of white metal with gold trimming and are rectangular. The end of the lipstick is branded with the Tom Ford logo.
At first touch, this lipstick feels like it will be stiff. But the formula is actually very smooth and emollient. This lipstick gave my lips moisture and didn’t emphasize lip lines.
Pink Dusk is a fantastic “my lips but better” color. It is a nude mixed with pink, so it won’t wash you out like a beige-nude might. The color has great pigmentation and leaves a creamy finish. Although the lipstick has tiny gold flecks in the tube, the shimmer doesn’t really show up on the lips.
I get 2.5 hours of wear with this color before wanting to re-apply.
The lipstick smells like your traditional lipstick without any scent added.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
This lipstick applies onto the skin smoothly without having to tug. The neutral, soft color also makes application forgiving.
For $48.00 you get 3 grams (0.10 ounces) of product. Dior’s Rouge Dior costs $32.00 and contains 0.12 ounces. Chanel’s Rouge Coco costs $32.50 and contains 0.12 ounces. While the high price-point for Tom Ford lipsticks isn’t a surprise, it is well above similarly-situated high-end brands.
