Vincent’s Amaretti Diamond Collection gift set offers “eye candy” for the holidays. Four unique shadows, literally baked into irresistible “color cookies,” recall the world-famous scrumptious Italian sweet. These holiday “eye candies” feature sweet complements of crystalline icing baked onto a velvety rich base of visible flavor. When applied, the gourmet treats and toppings meld and blend with sophisticated taste, for a look of visual sensation this holiday season and beyond. What’s more, the Amaretti Diamond Collection comes perfectly packaged for holiday gift-giving in a sleek, chic, red-bowed black box.
Vincent Longo’s Amaretti Diamond Eyeshadow Collection is a set of 4 baked eye shadows that come in the shape of “color cookies.” The colors included are as follows:
- Midnight blue fudge topped with silver and sapphire pearl frosting
- Velvet vanilla crème treat laced with silver sprinkles
- Rich chocolate brownie iced with glistening gold
- Warm copperleaf cake topped with silvery sugar crystals
This collection comes in a thick paper box wrapped with a red ribbon. It is packaged like a present and ready to give as a gift without any additional wrapping. Inside, there are 4 wells, each with a little “cookie” inside. The packaging is the cutest and most innovative I’ve seen in a while. It doesn’t, however, keep the sparkles from migrating all over the inside (and outside) of the box.
All of the colors have glitters in them and give off high shimmer.
The first color has a dark blue, non-opaque base with a million light blue glitters. There is a white frost in the “pan,” but it doesn’t show up in the swatch. Even though the dark blue base doesn’t have a strong finish, the shimmer more than makes up for it. This would be an absolutely gorgeous color over a black base.
The second color is a light champagne with a more finely-milled shimmer finish. There is silver shimmer in the pan, but this gets mixed into the shadow itself and the silver isn’t independently discernible once the shadow is applied.
The third color is a chocolate brown with golden shimmers.
The fourth color is a mild copper. Again, in the pan, there is a cluster of silver shimmers, but these get mostly mixed in with the rest of the shadow once the color is applied.
When applied wet, the colors intensify, but not by much. The shadows go on smoothly and apply fairly evenly. I do wish one of the colors wasn’t shimmery so that you’d have the option of mixing in a matte color for a complete eye look, but since this is a palette that came out during the holidays and is intended as a festive and playful gift, I can understand the uniform inclusion of glitter in all 4 colors.
Ease of Use: 9/10
The glitters in the first color go all over the place, so make sure you apply it before applying your foundation. The glitters in the copper color also travel a bit, so expect to be cleaning away fall-out with at least those 2 colors.
These shadows can be used wet or dry and, in either case, should be applied over a base.
For $44.00, you get 4 baked shadows in the shape of “color cookies.” I don’t know how much product you get, but from the size of each “cookie,” you get a lot. So you have 4 colors, making each $11, plus the uniqueness of the packaging and design of the shadows.
Overall, I think this is a very cute and unique gift that contains great quality shadows.
