Zoya’s Summer 2012 collection is divided into 2 halves: the Beach Collection and the Surf Collection. This post will cover the colors from the Beach Collection:
- Reagan: deep cerise pink cream
- Lara: vivid cerise pink cream
- Shelby: soft pinky pink cream
- Arizona: soft coral orange cream
- Tracie: sea grass metallic
- Wednesday: soft aqua cream
You can view the colors from the Surf Collection here.
Zoya polishes come in clear glass jars that narrow toward the bottom. The distance from the handle to the brush and the brush length are perfect for controlled application.
The Beach Collection contains wonderful colors for Spring and Summer. Tracie is probably the exception to the “typical” range of Summer colors, but does fit in with the beach theme of this collection.
As is typical with Zoya polishes, these have great formulas that apply smoothly without any streakiness or bubbles. All the colors leave a jelly finish with the exception of Tracie, which has micro-fine silver shimmers.
All of the colors go on opaquely except for Tracie. Reagan and Lara only need a single coat. Shelby, Arizona, and Wednesday also go on opaquely and even on the first coat, but the color does “spill” a little from the middle of the nail (the highest point on the nail) as the color dries, which probably means you will want to add a second coat. If you have flat nails, you may not get this separating effect. Tracie definitely needs 2 coats because it’s translucent in some places on the first coat.
Arizona is my favorite color. It’s a juicy orange color that is absolutely perfect for Summer.
Ease of Use: 9.25/10
Zoya’s brush design makes controlled application easy. All of the colors go completely opaque and even on the second coat, and some even require just a single coat.
For $8.00, you get 0.5 fl oz of polish. This is on-par with other salon polish brands like China Glaze and OPI.
