Like a breath of summer night air, this fragrance overtakes the senses with notes of crushed cedar while toeing the edge of darkness with the poignant scents of sweet blood orange and velvety osmanthus. Glide this fragrant temptation across your pulse points and accept the undeniable force of Truth.
Melding fresh floral and botanical notes with premiere aromatic essences from land, sea, and sky, the TokyoMilk Dark Fate & Fortune Collection is a set of distinctive fragrances designed in Pairs to act as foils to one another. Dare to tempt Fate & Fortune and there is no telling where it might take you. Each rollerball in the collection comes in an elegant glass vial enclosed with a sleek cork.
TokyoMilk is a perfume brand created by internationally-renowned perfumer and designer Margot Elena. The brand is best known for creating unusual scents. Sephora now carries TokyoMilk’s “Dark” line, which features edgy, provocative perfumes.
Sephora currently sells 6 of TokyoMilk’s Parfum de Ciggaro Rollerballs. This review is for Truth, which is part of TokyoMilk’s “Fate & Fortune” collection.
Notes: Sugared Vanilla, Blood Orange, Osmanthus, Crushed Cedar
Style: Assertive. Sharp. Zesty.
TokyoMilk’s Parfum de Ciggaro Rollerballs come in clear, glass vials and are corked at the bottom. The rollerball itself is made of black material that feels like ceramic. It’s decorated with white writing and designs. Truth has a flower image, the number 85, and the company and perfume name on it. The twist-off cap is made of gunmetal-colored plastic.
I love the packaging for all the perfumes in TokyoMilk’s Dark line. The packaging is masculine while still being beautiful.
The first few seconds, this scent smells very strongly of cedar and alcohol. Once the scent dies down, the orange scent shows through much more, as well as the sugar scent. Eventually, the orange tones predominate over the vanilla and cedar.
Ovearall, this fragrance is citrus-y and slightly sugary, without being sickly-sweet.
The fragrance is strong for the first hour or two, but fades after that.
TokyoMilk’s Parfum de Ciggaro Rollerballs are nicely priced. For $24.00 you get 0.33 ounces of perfume. This is a somewhat lower price-point compared to other rollerballs sold by other companies at Sephora. It’s not as good of a deal as buying a full-sized perfume bottle, but you get the convenience of travel-friendly packaging in exchange.
