Truth Patrol: “My Skin Gets Used to Products”

I hear a lot of people say they need to change up the products they use because their skin has “gotten used” to whatever they’ve been using. I have even watched YouTube video where users suggest changing your skincare monthly to avoid this result.

The truth is, skin doesn’t “get used” to products. A good product is a good product, period. Skin doesn’t have a personality or become “apathetic” toward what you put on it.

So if you’ve found a skin product with great ingredients, don’t feel the need to switch to a new product for fear that your skin will adapt to it.

Be bright, be beautiful!

I’m not sure I fully agree with this. Currently I take antibiotics for my skin, my dermatologist changes my prescription from time to time because my body does get “use to it”. It’s possible that skin changes from season to season and you need to change products too.

The reason your dermatologist will change your prescription is to prevent resistance to the antibiotics. It not because your “skin gets used” to a skincare product.

Whoa, thanks! I’ve been imprisoned with that kind of thought too. 😛
