Hmm…just noticed that the Illuminating Powders are PERFUMED…what is up with these HE companies putting fragrance in their products? Have you had any experience with Dior’s ‘perfumed’ products? If so, does the smell linger? Is it obnoxious? I’m just now beginning to explore Dior’s line & what it has to offer. Do their LSs contain fragrance, as well? At least I know not to order the Illuminators!

Personally, I find Guerlain, Burberry, L’Oreal & Lancome lippies (only thing I’ve tried from them) scents to be completely offensive & outdated. I asked the Guerlain rep if Madame G blush was scented, she didn’t know so I ordered it in hopes of it being unscented. Well, it smells, so back it goes. Anyhow, she tried to explain that it’s an oil that they put in their products, but I told her how I feel. Perhaps I could tolerate it if it went away but when I tried the holiday Meteroites last year, I could not get the scent off my face even after washing it multiple times, this was after I had been wearing it for over 4 hours. On the other hand, I can tolerate Guerlain’s Terracotta scent b/c it dissipates.

We do not have a Burberry counter in town, therefore I had to order their products online. I bought a beautiful bronzer & highlighter. I was so excited to get it but was deeply saddened when I realized that it has a very similar scent to most of Guerlain’s products.

I don’t see the benefit in scented products & I know you feel the same way. I think these companies would reach a larger & younger clientele if they would stop putting fragrance in everything, including lipstick! I was in love with the color of a Lancôme LS I bought on a whim but I had to return it because it made me a little sick when I tried to wear it. I also think it would be great if MU companies & retailers websites included whether or not products are scented. It would be great if companies would make a scented (ie Guerlain Meteroites) & unscented (ie Guerlain Pressed Meteroites) versions of their products.

This is my personal opinion & I hope that others who do like these type products do not find my comment offensive, as we all have & are entitled to our own opinions. But if I want perfume, I’ll choose one that works for me, from a bottle, this way I’m able to control how much goes on & which one I like the best.

    Sorry for the rant.
