This review is for Aveda’s Petal Essence Single Eye Color in Cinnamon Bark, which released with the Spring 2013 Art of Nature collection, along with five (5) other eye shadow shades. Cinnamon Bark is a satiny, rich mahogany shade.
Aveda’s makeup comes in eco-friendly, minimalist packaging. Instead of having a full box or compact, this face powder comes in pan form, is protected by a clear, plastic casing, and is housed inside of a cardboard wrap.
Cinnamon Bark is a reddish brown with very subtle shimmer. The color has good pigmentation and applies smoothly, making it a good choice for the crease. The shimmer particles aren’t prominent enough to show up in the crease.
This eye shadow doesn’t seem to be soft or creamy in the pan, but it transfers very nicely once you apply it onto the skin.
Without primer applied, the color didn’t crease until after about four (4) hours. With primer applied underneath, there was no creasing until after about seven (7) hours of wear.
Ease of Use: 9/10
This eye shadow blends smoothly through the crease and layers effectively on the lid.
