Flawless, lightweight buildable coverage. Looks natural and stays fresh for 18 hours. SPF 12.
Avon’s newly packaged Extra Lasting Liquid Foundation is said to provide light-weight yet buildable coverage with a formula that lasts 18 hours. This foundation is available in 20 shades. The shades shown in this review are Creamy Natural and Medium Beige.
This foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump applicator. This packaging keeps the foundation inside sanitary and the pump dispenses a little less than a pea-sized amount at a time. It would be better if the packaging were opaque (to keep the foundation protected from sun exposure), but as far as liquid foundation packaging goes, this is very good.
This liquid foundation has a thin formula that isn’t watery. You’ll get medium coverage that can be built up slightly with layering.
This foundation looks smooth on the skin and leaves a demi-matte finish. If you have oily or combination skin, you’ll want to powder the areas of your face that get shiny. But if you have normal or dry skin, you’ll probably be able to skip the powder.
This foundation does a good job of holding up all day. At the end of a 10-hour period, it’s still intact without looking patchy or broken-down.
Though this foundation does include sun protection, the SPF 12 value is lower than the minimum you should be using (SPF 15). You should apply your normal sunscreen first, and rely on this foundation only for additional sun protection.
The only major down-side of this foundation is the inclusion of a small amount of fragrance. I can’t smell it when I apply this foundation, but it’s still disappointing that it’s included in the ingredients, since fragrances irritate the skin.
I use Creamy Natural for my NC20 skin. Medium Beige would better suit NC30 skin.
Ease of Use: 9/10
This liquid formula blends pretty well into the skin without looking streaky. You can build up the coverage with additional layers.
For $12.50 you get 1 fl oz (30 ml) of foundation.
