Company’s Description

Inspired by the soft, gossamer color and texture of crushed rose petals, Chantecaille has created a limited-edition highlighting powder to brighten your powder room as well as your face.

A kaleidoscope of colorful powders blend together beautifully to impart a sheer, flattering glow on all skin tones. Unique light-perfecting powders provide a veil of subtle radiance, while flexible polymers ensure long-lasting, comfortable wear. Innovative technology allows the soft, iridescent pigments to be evenly sprinkled throughout the entire powder.

Chantecaille’s Rose Petals Highlighter Powder (aka Les Pétales de Rose) initially released with the company’s Holiday 2012 collection. It contains a kaleidoscope of luminizing colors with what the company claims is a soft, crushed rose petals texture.

Packaging: 9/10

This highlighting powder comes in a reflective, silver, round compact that snaps shut and contains a full-sized mirror. This compact is beautiful, light-weight, and sleek, but the outside is a magnet for fingerprints.

Quality: 9.25/10

As Chantecaille claims, the formula for this powder is soft and isn’t dusty or chalky. It glides over the skin, leaving a nearly colorless (slightly pink) layer of luminizing sheen. If you have dark skin, this highlighter will probably impart a chalky color. The shimmer particles are extremely finely-milled, so the luminizing effect you get is refined.

You can use this highlighter on the tops of the cheeks, down the nose, in the inner corner of the eyes, or on the brow bone. It will keep its luminizing effect throughout the day without needing touching-up.

Ease of Use: 9.25/10

This formula glides over the skin and blends out effortlessly. Use thin layers to build up the effect to your desired strength. Using too dense of a brush can make the highlighting effect look less refined.

Price: 8.25/10

This product costs $74.00 and contains 0.42 ounces (12 grams) of powder. You get more product compared to most highlighting powders, but the price is well above average, even for luxury brands.
