These ultra-silky and lustrous eyeshadows look like a powder but feel like a cream, allowing for a smooth and flawless application. Use to contour, line, and highlight for a radiant finish. The luminous, shimmery formula creates a gorgeous range of looks for both day and night.
e.l.f.’s 3 Prism Eyeshadow palettes are part of its Studio line and each contain 6 highly metallic eye shadows that can be used wet or dry. This review is for the palette Sunset, which includes pinks and purples.
This palette comes in a rectangular, flat, black, plastic compact with a full-length mirror inside.
The Sunset palette contains a very pale pink that looks mostly white, a peachy-rose, a tanned-champagne, a yellow-based gold, a cinnamon brown, and a violet. All of the colors have strong pigmentation and an extremely frosty, shimmery finish.
The formula for these shadows is very soft, with almost a mousse consistency. They’ll leave an indentation if you press your finger or eye shadow brush into the pan.
Surprisingly, these shadows go a good 4 hours or so before starting to crease. The metallic quality makes them most suitable for a night look, but if you balanced the shimmer with a matte shade in the crease, they can also work for the daytime. The shades can be used wet or dry, but there actually isn’t much of a difference between the two types of application.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
The soft formula makes these shadows easy to apply onto the lid and fairly easy to blend out. Sometimes, the product can clump up because of the formula’s mousse-like texture, so be sure not to pick up too much product on the brush.
For $10.00 you get 0.42 ounces (12 grams) of product.
