The Flower Ready Set Glow! Blush/Bronzer Duo is an ultra-smooth pressed powder that combines superlative wear, comfort and color purity.
Drew Barrymore’s Flower Collection includes four (4) sets of Blush/Bronzer Duos. This review is for the duo in Gloriously Golden, which contains a light pink blush and medium tan bronzer.
These powders comes in a square, vaguely-flower-shaped compact with a bumpy, clear, lid that flips open and shut. The packaging is otherwise made of white plastic and is lightweight.
On the left, this duo contains a light, yellow-based pink blush without shimmer. When swatched, this blush had very poor pigmentation. The formula is extremely soft, which makes it pleasant to apply, but also means the powder doesn’t adhere as well to the skin. Luckily, once I actually applied the blush to my cheeks (instead of just on my arm for pictures), the pigmentation was noticeably better. I suspect this is because the natural oils on the face, plus the moisture from my skincare products and foundation, help the powder (and, therefore, color) stay on the skin and show up much more prominently.
The bronzer, though it technically has micro-shimmer in the pan, shows up as a matte, medium-tan color on the skin. It has good pigmentation and works fairly well as a contouring powder. Again, the formula is extremely soft.
The colors wore well through the day, and I didn’t see any notable fading or patchiness of the colors for at least the first six (6) hours of wear.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
This formula blends out quite well, due to its softness. You may want to add an extra layer of the blush to make sure it shows up.
For around $10 you get 0.28 ounces (8 grams) of product.
