This review is for Lancome’s new Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palette in Emerald Decadence, which includes four (4) eye shadow shades (in pinks, greys and greens) and a black eye liner shade.
Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palettes come in a rounded-square compact made of reflective, black plastic. The compacts flip open and contain a full-sized mirror inside. Each of these palettes also has a plastic covering that goes over the eye shadows and describes where on the eye Lancome suggests you use each shade. You, of course, do not have to strictly adhere to these suggestions.
The Emerald Decadence palette contains four (4) eye shadow colors: a frosty light pink, a shimmering emerald green, a shimmering grey, and a glittering olive grey-green. The palette also includes a matte black eye liner powder.
The formula for these eye shadows is soft and creamy. Each shade has good pigmentation. The shimmer in this palette also will produce a little bit of fall-out, but it’s not anything that sticks around or persists through the day. The black liner shade is a little stiffer in formula so that it can be applied opaquely in a thin line.
Ease of Use: 9.25/10
The formula for the powders in this palette is pretty simple to apply, though I’d apply them over primer to help the shimmer particles stick.
For $49.00 you get 0.141 ounces (4 grams) of product. This is far more expensive given how many ounces of product you get compared to palettes from brands like Illamasqua, Urban Decay, Becca, and LORAC.
