This review is for Lancome’s new Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palette in Peach Opulence, which includes four (4) eye shadow shades (in pink and neutral browns) and a black eye liner shade.
Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palettes come in a rounded-square compact made of reflective, black plastic. The compacts flip open and contain a full-sized mirror inside. Each of these palettes also has a plastic covering that goes over the eye shadows and describes where on the eye Lancome suggests you use each shade. You, of course, do not have to strictly adhere to these suggestions.
The Peach Opulence palette contains four (4) eye shadow colors: a nude shade with a velvet finish, a shimmering peachy-pink, a shimmering milk-chocolate-golden brown, and a shimmering slightly orange gold. The palette also includes a matte black eye liner powder.
The formula for all of the colors in this palette is amazing. The shadows have a perfect level of creaminess and softness without being so crumbly that the powder falls off the skin. Every single shade has wonderful pigmentation. The black liner shade is a little stiffer in formula so that it can be applied opaquely in a thin line.
This is a great neutrals palette for anyone. You could even use the peachy-pink shade as a blush if you’re willing to work with a smaller brush. And, of course, the black liner shade can also be used in the crease with a fluffy brush.
Ease of Use: 10/10
The formula for the powders in this palette couldn’t be more pleasant to use. The pigments glide smoothly across the skin with great color. The eye shadows don’t produce fall-out.
For $49.00 you get 0.141 ounces (4 grams) of product. This is far more expensive given how many ounces of product you get compared to palettes from brands like Illamasqua, Urban Decay, Becca, and LORAC.
