This review is for the 12 new, limited-edition Huggable Lipcolour lipsticks releasing with MAC’s Huggable Lipcolour Collection for Winter 2013. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:

Commotion is a rich, pink-plum.
Red Necessity is a soft red/strawberry color.
What A Feeling! is a soft pink with a slight purple undertone.
Feeling Amourous? is a mid-toned fuchsia.
Love Beam is a mid-toned, yellow-based pink.
Out For Passion is a pink-coral.
Touche is a soft nude.
Fresh & Frisky is a soft peach-coral.
Cherry Glaze is a strong orange-red shade.
Fashion Force is a soft coral.
Rich Maroon is a medium nude.
The Huggable Lipcolour lipsticks wear very pleasantly. They are light-weight and feel like a moisturizing, emollient balm. There’s no stickiness to the formula.
Despite the formula being pleasant once you get it on the lips, the lipsticks are surprisingly resistant to transferring onto the lips when you’re applying them. The formula takes a while to “warm up” and, in the meantime, the bullet pulls at and skips a little on the skin.
All the shades have a balmy finish without containing any shimmer. Although the nude and light shades don’t leave a stain behind, the brighter and darker shades definitely do. So, even when the lipstick has completely come off, you still get a translucent tint on the lips that’s left behind.
MAC claims this formula lasts for “up to 6 hours.” These shades last closer to 3-4 hours on average. Although the formula is not transfer-resistant, the portion of the formula that’s closest to the skin does stick to it quite well, which is what makes the color stay behind to give you a stain.
Overall, the Huggable Lipcolours are pleasant to wear and this collection has a great array of colors. I just wish the formula were more pleasant to apply.

While the packaging is super cute I don’t see them being worth $20 if they last two hours less than they’re supposed to, are hard to put on, and are kind of sheer. If they had been the price of their regular lipsticks, or better yet $10, I probably would have picked up several but not at that $20 price point.
Out for Passion looks nice but sounds like the formula wouldn’t make it worth it.
