A liquid-powder blush with prismatic reflections in five shimmering shades. Impact ranges from sheer crystallized light to a highly polished metallic effect. Lasts up to 6 hours.
This review is for 2 of the new, limited-edition Extra Dimension Blushes releasing with MAC’s Magnetic Nude Collection for Winter 2013. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:
- Autoerotique: mid-tone coral rose
- Pleasure Model: soft terracotta with pearlized pigments
At Dusk is also re-promoted with this collection. You can see a review of At Dusk here.
The compacts are plastic and come with snap-shut, flip-up tops. The pans have the MAC logo and a wave design embossed on them.
Autoerotique is a mid-toned coral. This color doesn’t show up unless you apply 2-3 layers of the color and dig your brush into the pan.
Pleasure Model is a soft terracotta with very subtle sheen. It also needs at least 2 layers to get good color.
I’m not a fan of the Extra Dimension Blush formula. It’s stiff in the pan and dry, making the color splotchy on the skin.
Ease of Use: 7.75/10
You’ll need to dig your brush into each blush pan and apply 2-3 layers of product to get the pigment to show up on the skin.
For $25.00 you get 6.5 grams (0.22 ounces) of blush. MAC’s regular blushes cost $21.00 and contain 6 grams of product. So, you are paying a little more per ounce with the Extra Dimension Blushes.
