A liquid-powder highlighter with prismatic reflections that sculpts, highlights and models the face. The cool, creamy near-fluid formula creates a luminous, well-defined finish. Wears 10 hours.
This review is for the 2 new, limited-edition Extra Dimension Skinfinishes releasing with MAC’s Magnetic Nude Collection for Winter 2013. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:
- Magnetic Appeal: medium tan with fine golden sheen
- Fairly Precious: peach with dimensional pearly sheen
Superb is also re-promoted with this collection. You can see a review of Superb here.
These highlighters come in standard MAC packaging and are the same size as MAC Mineralize Skinfinish compacts. The compacts are plastic and come with snap-shut, flip-up tops. The pans have the MAC logo and a wave design embossed on them.
Magnetic Appeal is a bronzed color with a reflective finish. Fairly Precious is a medium peach shade with a reflective finish.
Both colors have good pigmentation and can be layered for use as a cheek color or kept sheer for use as a highlighter.
The formula is dry and stiff in the pan, but, unlike with the Extra Dimension Blushes, actually transfers onto the skin well and blends out smoothly. The shimmery finish you get is intense but finely-milled.
MAC claims that these highlighters last 10 hours, which holds true. The formula doesn’t fade or flake off and adheres nicely to the skin.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
The Extra Dimension Skinfinish formula blends smoothly over the skin and imparts good color.
For $30.00 (up from $29.00) you get 9 grams (0.31 ounces) of product.
