Monochromatic meets metallic in a colour collection created with the M•A•C Pro in mind. A nude palette, defined by the creamy, rich tones of Amplified and Satin formulas, pairs to perfection with a metallic range of frosted plums and berries. Each features a selection of four Lipsticks with corresponding shades of Eye Shadow and a Powder Blush.
This review is for the four (4) eye shadows released with the Nude portion of MAC’s Nudes & Metallics Collection. This collection is targeted to PRO artists, but it looks like it is available to regular MAC customers online. Most of the shades are currently sold out, so if you’re interested in purchasing any of these colors, you should call a MAC PRO store. The following colors are reviewed:
- Bare Minimum: Sheer soft pinky nude with pearl (Satin)
- Glimpse of Flesh: Sheer warm pink nude (Satin)
- Exposed: Sheer neutral mid-tone nude (Satin)
- Body Conscious: Sheer warm mid-tone nude (Satin)
Bare Minimum is a subtly shimmery nude. Glimpse of Flesh is a warm-toned nude with almost imperceptible shimmer. Exposed is a tan nude. Body Conscious is a very warm-toned, medium nude with a pinch of orange in it.
All four (4) colors have Satin finishes, meaning they’re not matte, but the shimmer they contain is very subtle. The shimmer in Bare Minimum and Glimpse Of Flesh can be seen if you look closely, but the shimmery quality of Exposed and Body Conscious is nearly imperceptible.
These shadows have good pigmentation, though they could be creamier in formula. Exposed and Body Conscious take a little more pressure and blending to ensure a smooth layer of color.
I wish MAC had added a cool-toned nude in the mix, but this is otherwise a great set of nude eye shadow colors.
