A silky, colourless finishing powder suitable for all skin tones. Reduces shine while optically minimizing the look of lines & imperfections. Wear over makeup or on its own. Now in a pressed compact for ease & portability. This product does not come with a sponge.
This review is for MAC’s Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder, which is a pressed powder used for setting the skin or foundation with a mattifying effect.
This powder comes in MAC’s classic packaging, except that the black plastic is shiny and glittery instead of matte. The compact snaps shut and contains a full sized mirror inside.
The Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder looks white in the pan, but goes on entirely clear and won’t change the color of your skin or underlying foundation.
This powder’s formula is light-weight and is almost impossible to make look cakey or powdery. It leaves a matte finish without making the skin look entirely flat. The mattifying effect doesn’t last all day, so it’s only a temporary solution for those with combination or oily skin.
Ease of Use: 10/10
It’s pretty much impossible to use this product poorly. You can use a sponge or powder puff applicator, or a brush to either press the powder into the skin (for a more matte finish and longer staying power) or dust it on top of the skin.
For $25.00 you get 0.22 ounces (6.3 grams) of product. Compared to other mid-high range brands, this is a good amount of product for the price.
