An Eye Shadow Quad in four shades: light taupe mauve, rich blackened plum, silvered violet with gold, and intense black. The highly pigmented powder formula applies evenly, blends and builds beautifully.
This review is for the limited-edition Punk Couture Eyeshadow Quad releasing with MAC’s Punk Couture Collection for Winter 2013. This quad includes the following colors:
- All Races: Cool light taupe-mauve (Matte) (Repromote)
- Magic Moor: Rich blackened plum with pearl (Veluxe Pearl) (Repromote)
- Idol Eyes: Silvered violet with gold (Lustre) (Permanent)
- Carbon: Intense black (Matte) (Permanent)
All Races is a light, dusty lavender shade with a matte finish.
Idol Eyes is a shimmering pale violet with a silver finish.
Magic Moor is a deep eggplant with finely-milled purple shimmer.
Carbon is a matte black.
Overall, all 4 shades have good quality. All Races is pretty smooth for being a matte formula. Idol Eyes and Magic Moor have good color and also go on smoothly. Carbon could be a little more creamy and opaque, but a little layering will fix any patchiness you see.
The biggest criticism of this palette is that it contains no new shades. Carbon and Idol Eyes are permanent colors, All Races has been released with several other collections before, and Magic Moor is also a re-promoted color. If you don’t have any of these colors already, this is a good palette. But if you have Carbon or any of the other shades already, the value of this palette goes down significantly.
