Colour plus texture for the lips that made M·A·C famous. A trio of limited-edition shades created by Rihanna, all in Retro Matte finishes – the cool red of RiRi Woo, the vivid lavender of RiRi Boy and the matte berry of Heaux. Online Exclusive.
This review is for the three (3) limited edition Lipsticks releasing with the RiRi Hearts MAC Summer Collection for Summer 2013. This post includes photographs and swatches of the following colors:
- RiRi Woo: Matte cool red (Retro Matte)
- RiRi Boy: Matte vivid lavender (Retro Matte)
- Heaux: Matte berry (Retro Matte)
RiRi Woo is a classic, bright red. RiRi Boy is a dusty (grey-tinted) orchid shade. Heaux is a vibrant red that’s deeper than RiRi Woo because of the slight berry tint it has. All of these shades have incredible pigmentation and leave an opaque, ultra-matte finish.
As a consequence of the ultra matte finish, the formula for these lipsticks is also stiff in the bullet and dry on the skin. Make sure your lips are well-moisturized before using these colors. The color will last much longer than a creamier lipstick formula–around four (4) hours. The shades also leave behind pigment on the skin after the product has come off. I’d strongly suggest applying them with a lip brush to get a smooth line.
Amazingly, even though this is a collaboration collection and the lipsticks have an engraved design on them, they cost the same and contain the same amount of product compared to MAC’s regular lipsticks.
