This review is for MAC’s Select Cover Up Concealer, which is a liquid concealer that MAC provides in 11 shades. The shade depicted and reviewed is NC20.

BH Cosmetics Eyeshadow

Packaging: 9/10

This concealer comes in a clear plastic squeeze tube with a twist-off cap. The packaging allows you to control how much product you dispense fairly well.

Quality: 9/10

This concealer has a thin, but not watery, consistency that spreads easily over the skin. NC20 is light, even for my typically-NC20 skin. This light tone is what gives the concealer its brightening effect and makes it best suited for using under the eyes.

The concealer is also great for using under the eyes because it has a formula that won’t dry up the skin or become cakey. Concealers that are normally good for use on the rest of my face often tend to look patchy or cakey when I use them under my eyes, so I reach for the Select Cover Up often because it doesn’t have the dry effect.

This concealer imparts medium coverage, so if you have serious dark circles under your eyes, you’ll need a heavier coverage concealer. Then, you can use the Select Cover Up on top to brighten the area.

This concealer would be great for using on the face too because the consistency leaves a natural finish on the skin. The liquid texture blends into the skin well, making it good for covering up discoloration or non-raised blemishes. Just make sure to opt for a color that’s one shade darker than the color you usually are at MAC, to counter-act the brightening finish this concealer has.

I don’t have any problems with this concealer fading throughout the day.

Ease of Use: 9/10

This concealer’s thin consistency makes it very easy to blend into the skin. It can leave slight streakiness or unevenness if you use a brush or don’t blend the product enough, so check up-close to make sure it looks even on the skin.

Price: 9.5/10

For $18.00 you get 0.33 ounces (10 ml) of product. This is at least twice as much as MAC’s other concealers, while still being the same price.

Wish this review existed a long time ago.

I decided to get this concealer before because I had really bad acne scarring, but I had to ask my aunt in America to get it for me, I thought no big deal because I know my shade in MAC anyways. I was definitely disappointed that it was lighter than my skin tone so it made the acne scarring stand out even more.

I think I’ll revisit it and try to use it for my undereyes.

Thanks (as always) for the amazing (as always) review! :D
