Five complementary shades that glide on and blend beautifully for infinite day-to-night looks: metallic silver with pearl, light blue, blue with pearl, purple blue with pearl, black with blue pearl.
This review is for the Veluxe Pearlfusion eye shadow palette in Bleuluxe, which releases with MAC’s Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Collection for Summer 2013. This palette includes shades of metallic silver with pearl, light blue, blue with pearl, purple blue with pearl, black with blue pearl.
This palette contains a frosty silver, a shimmering medium blue, a deep navy with lighter blue shimmer, a deep navy with sparse blue shimmer, and a black with sparse shimmer. With the exception of the silver shade, the colors in this palette don’t have as much of a gritty-flake texture as many of the frosty shades in the other Veluxe Pearlfusion palettes.
MAC states that you can apply these eye shadows wet for a super saturated, metallic effect, or dry for sheer coverage with a soft, sparkling finish. All of the shades in this palette intensify in finish–both in terms of color and frostiness–when they are applied wet. When applied dry, the shades are more translucent at their base and softer in color.
The middle shade is especially beautiful when applied with a damp brush. Applying it wet makes the base color more opaque and brings out the contrast between the base color and the lighter, shimmery blue particles.
