Five complementary shades that glide on and blend beautifully for infinite day-to-night looks: frosty pink white, deep bronze, carbon black, deep grey and platinum.
This review is for the Veluxe Pearlfusion eye shadow palette in Smokeluxe, which releases with MAC’s Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Collection for Summer 2013. This palette includes shades of frosty pink white, deep bronze, carbon black, deep grey and platinum.
This palette contains a slightly shimmery nude, a golden brown, a bronze, a grey, and a carbon black. Unlike the other Veluxe Pearlfusion palettes, Smokeluxe doesn’t contain any shades with a flaky/chunky frost finish. This palette has very accessible colors that will work on just about any skin/eye color.
MAC states that you can apply these eye shadows wet for a super saturated, metallic effect, or dry for sheer coverage with a soft, sparkling finish. There isn’t much of a difference with the colors in this palette when you apply them wet as opposed to dry. Applied dry, the colors still have good pigmentation and smooth finishes. The colors intensify just slightly when you apply them wet.
For $40.00 you get 0.14 ounces (4 grams) of product. In a MAC eyeshadow quad, you pay $40.00 for 0.19 ounces (5.6 grams) of product. So, you are getting less product for the same price when you buy the Veluxe Pearlfusion palettes.
