Make Up For Ever’s newest foundation is a pressed powder foundation that the company says can be used wet or dry, imparting buildable coverage for a long-wearing, flawless complexion. This foundation is available in 25 shades. The shade tested and depicted, below, is 118 Neutral Beige.
For my NC20 skin, 118 Neutral Beige is about a half-shade too dark. It still works without looking off-matched, but those with NC20 skin should probably opt for 117 Golden Ivory.
The powder formula for this foundation is smooth and refined. It gives medium to full coverage, even when you use a light layer of product. The finish on the skin is mostly matte, but there is a tiny bit of luminescence in the formula that keeps it from looking completely matte. This is the kind of powder foundation that evens out the skin very well, but you can sort of still tell you are wearing foundation.
You will still need to blot normally through the day if you have oily or combination skin, but this powder foundation does a good job of staying put even through your skin’s natural development of shininess.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
This powder blends nicely over the skin without being streaky or looking cakey. You can also use this foundation wet for more sheer coverage.
For $36.00 you get 0.35 ounces of foundation. For a brand like MUFE, this is an expected amount of product and price-point.
