Company’s Description
Dare to Whisper. Get truly translucent gel color from Color Whisper by Color Sensational from Maybelline. Pure color pigments suspended in a weightless gel deliver sexy, soft, see through color with a touch of shine, without the heavy waxes & oils found in traditional lipcolor.
Maybelline’s newest lip product is its Color Sensational Color Whisper Lipcolors, which the company describes as translucent gel colors that deliver a touch of shine while still being light-weight. This lip product comes in 20 different shades. This review is for the shade Oh La Lilac–a pale, pinky-lavender.
Packaging: 9/10
This lip product comes in a rectangular, plastic tube with a slide-off cap.
Quality: 8.25/10
Oh La Lilac is a pale, translucent pinky-lavender shade that leaves a glossy finish to the lips. The shade is bright while having a translucent quality.
The formula is light-weight and feels emollient (almost watery and gel-like) on the lips. The lipstick bullet glides over the skin easily.
For the most part, this lip product has the characteristics Maybelline says it will. It’s light-weight, has translucent color, and leaves a touch of shine. This shade settled a little into lip lines, especially the ones on my bottom lip. The formula is also very short-wearing. I found that I needed to re-apply after just one (1) to two (2) hours of wear.
Ease of Use: 9.25/10
The formula glides onto the lips without needing extra pressure and without skipping.
Price: 9/10
For around $7.50 you get 0.11 ounces of product. Compared to the Revlon Lip Butters, you pay about the same but get slightly more product. The cost and amount of product is also comparable to the L’Oreal Colour Riche Le Balms.
I really wanted to love these, but the color settles into the lipcracks so much
feels nice on though
