Play up cheekbones with a shimmering color pop. This mosaic of three beautiful colors is perfect for layering on a lustrous highlight or creating a sophisticated sculpted look.
NARS’ newest cheek product comes in two, limited-edition, Sephora-exclusive color sets: Realm of the Senses and Soulshine. This review is for Realm of the Senses, which contains a flirty, sheer peach, shimmering bronzed rose, and sparkling gold sand.
The NARS Blush packaging is made of NARS’ classic rubberized black plastic and has a lid with a mirror inside that snaps shut. The outside of the packaging is a magnet for powder products, which makes it difficult to keep clean. The inside pan is embossed with an exclusive NARS logo design.
Realm of the Senses contains three main shades: a dusty pink, a brown-rose, and a tan-champagne. It also contains a pinky-champage that creates the NARS logo on the pan.
This Cheek Palette’s formula is slightly dusty, but it’s not overly stiff or chalky. It could definitely be softer, but the powder transfers onto the skin decently well.
The pigmentation is on the soft side. When you mix the colors together, you get a soft, peachy-browny-pink with a sheen. This is definitely a color best suited to light or fair skin and probably won’t show up well on skin darker than NC/NW 30. It could, alternatively be used as a colored highlighting powder for darker skin, or as a subtle all-over face illuminator for those with pink undertones. And you can use the individual shades as eye colors, but again, the color you get will be soft. NARS says you could use this powder for sculpting, but I don’t see how that would work given the shimmer in this product.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
This powder transfers onto the skin decently well and blends in nicely. Use a denser brush for more prominent color. Layering only marginally intensifies the color you get.
For $41.00 you get 0.42 ounces of blush. Considering NARS’s regular blushes cost $29.00 and contain 0.16 ounces, you get significantly more product per dollar with this limited-edition Cheek Palette.
