The ultimate authority in blush, NARS offers the industry’s most iconic shades for cheeks. Natural, healthy-looking color that immediately enlivens the complexion. A light application for even the highest-intensity hues delivers a natural-looking flush.
NARS’s Guy Bourdin Holiday 2013 Collection includes 2 new, limited-edition blushes. The following colors are reviewed and depicted:
- Coeur Battant: Magenta
- Day Dream: Peachy pink
Exhibit A blush is also promoted with this collection. It is a permanent color.
FYI, you can get a free mini Orgasm Illuminator with any NARS online order during November 2013 with code NOVMINI13.
The NARS Blush packaging is made of NARS’ classic rubberized black plastic and has a lid with a mirror inside that snaps shut. The outside of the packaging is a magnet for powder products, which makes it difficult to keep clean. The box packaging for this collection is special-edition.
Coeur Battant is an incredibly bright, bold, magenta shade with a matte finish. The pigmentation is so strong that you only need to apply the tiniest amount of powder to get a wonderful flush of color.
Day Dream is a much softer shade. It leaves an almost matte finish (with a very slight sheen) and gives off a quiet peachy-nude flush. This will best suit light skin tones. When using this blush, you can tell that it has good pigmentation, but the nature of the light color means it won’t show up on deep skin colors.
Both of these blushes have a formula that isn’t chalky or stiff. They both blend into the skin nicely and have good staying power.
Ease of Use: 9.5/10
You can use any fluffy brush with Day Dream and it will blend into the skin smoothly. You should use a sparsely-packed fan brush with Couer Battant and build it in light layers, unless you want a heavy flush of color.
For $29.00 you get 0.16 ounces of blush. This is about average for the amount of product you get, maybe very slightly on the more expensive side.
