The ultimate authority in blush, NARS offers the industry’s most iconic shades for cheeks. Natural, healthy-looking color that immediately enlivens the complexion. A light application for even the highest-intensity hues delivers a natural-looking flush.
NARS’s Guy Bourdin Holiday 2013 Collection includes 5 new, limited-edition Cinematic Eye Shadows. The following colors are reviewed and depicted:
- Wishful Thinking: Macaw blue
- Rage: Electric orchid
- Bad Behaviour: Deep pewter
- Cambodia: Pink Copper
- Mississippi Mermaid: Champagne
FYI, you can get a free mini Orgasm Illuminator with any NARS online order during November 2013 with code NOVMINI13.
The NARS eye shadow packaging is made of NARS’ classic rubberized black plastic and has a lid with a mirror inside that snaps shut. The outside of the packaging is a magnet for powder products, which makes it difficult to keep clean. The box packaging for this collection is special-edition.
Wishful Thinking is a bold, bright shimmering blue. Rage is a vibrant violet with slightly paler violet shimmer. Bad Behaviour a deep shimmering grey-silver. Cambodia is a rich shimmering copper. Mississippi Mermaid is a shimmering cream.
All of the eye shadows have a fantastic formula that not only is soft enough to glide across the skin easily but also gives of rich, opaque pigmentation. It’s the exception when a bright eye shadow is smooth on the skin and doesn’t need layering, but all 5 of the colors in the Guy Bourdin collection fall under this exception.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
This buttery formula packs onto the lid quickly and blends nicely.
For $24.00 you get 0.07 ounces of shadow. This is the around same amount you get in single shadows from MUFE, Bobbi Brown, and Illamasqua, but at a higher price-point.
