NARS’s Guy Bourdin Holiday 2013 Collection includes 5 new, limited-edition Cinematic Lipsticks. The following colors are reviewed and depicted:
- Future Red: Cherry
- Short Circuit: Fire coral
- Last Tango: Dusty rose
- Goodbye Emmanuelle: Hot pink
- Full Frontal: Rose violet
FYI, you can get a free mini Orgasm Illuminator with any NARS online order during November 2013 with code NOVMINI13.
The NARS lipstick packaging is made of NARS’ classic rubberized black plastic and has a cap that snaps shut. The outside of the packaging is a magnet for powder products, which makes it difficult to keep clean. The box packaging for this collection is special-edition.
Future Red is a bright, opaque, candy apple red. Short Circuit is a bold, medium orange. Last Tango is a perfect dusty-pink nude. Goodbye Emmanuelle is a bright pink. Full Frontal is a bright violet.
Just like with the eye shadows in this collection, the Cinematic Lipsticks all have incredible pigmentation and glide on in an opaque layer over the lips. All of the shades are matte but the formula leaves a slight sheen on the lips. The bonus is that the formula is pleasant to wear and does not dry out the lips. I get a good 3-4 hours of wear, with a stain that stays behind.
Ease of Use: 9.75/10
These lipsticks glide nicely over the lips. You’ll probably want to use a lip brush for the most accurate application.
For $26.00 you get 0.12 ounces of lipstick. This is the same amount you get with Bobbi Brown, MUFE, ect., but for a slightly higher price.
