Your multitasking moisturizer, brightener, primer, concealer and SPF foundation! More than just another beauty balm, CC Cream with SPF 40 protects, corrects and perfects the skin’s appearance with clinically advanced plant-based ingredients, like DERMAPUR® HP—a clarifying corrective from meadowsweet—and CLARISKIN II®—a brightening powerhouse from wheat germ. Ideal for all skin types and concerns, this silicone-free formula works to erase brown spots, blemishes and fine lines from sight while balancing uneven skin tone.
Pur Minerals’s Color Correcting Cream (CC Cream) is said to be a moisturizer, brightener, primer, concealer, and foundation all in one. It is available in four (4) shades. This review is for the lightest shade–Light.
This CC Cream comes in an opaque, plastic squeeze tube with a pump. The packaging is great for keeping the product inside stable and protected, but the pump is inconsistent in dispensing product.
Pur Minerals’ CC Cream in Light is a little too light for my NC20-25 skin and also has a slight grey tinge to it.
This CC Cream has a medium thickness to it. The product gives almost no coverage, let alone the coverage of a foundation or concealer, as the company claims. This will even out your skin only if you have very minor imperfections. The pigment can look streaky on the skin, so make sure to rub it in completely. The CC Cream also leaves a dewy finish, which makes it most suitable for dry skin. If you have normal-to-oily skin, you will have to set this with a mattifying powder.
The CC Cream does moisturize, but I wouldn’t say it provides any priming effect. The best thing about this is that it provides full-spectrum sun protection with a solid SPF 40 rating and a decent serving of anti-oxidant ingredients.
Overall, I think its is a product suitable only for dry or normal skin and as a sunscreen with skincare benefits. It’s not a product most people can use as a foundation or to cover imperfections, which means it falls way short of the many claims the company makes about it.
Ease of Use: 8.75/10
You can apply this with your hands, but make sure to really blend it into the skin because it can be streaky.
For $38.00 you get 1.5 ounces (44 grams) of product. Most BB or CC creams for brands similar to Pur Minerals have between 1-1.5 ounces in them with prices between $28-$42.
