Rimmel’s Moisture Renew Lipsticks come in over 20 different shades and are said to reduce lip dryness while providing sun protection. This review is for the Moisture Renew Lipstick in #500 Berry Rose.
This lipstick comes in a reflective purple tube made of plastic.
Berry Rose is a cherry rose shade with subtle micro-shimmer. The finish imparts a little bit of shine without looking glossy.
This lipstick does feel moisturizing on the lips, though it doesn’t feel like it has as much body or emollience as a normal chapstick would. The pigmentation for this lipstick is good if you apply a good coat on the lips. But if you wear it more sheerly, the pigmentation is streakier.
This formula lasts for an average amount of time on the lips–about two (2) hours before needing re-application.
Although this lipstick touts an SPF 18, the active ingredients don’t effectively protect against UVA rays, so this isn’t a full-spectrum sun protecting product. You should apply a sunscreen lip balm underneath or on top.
Ease of Use: 9/10
This formula glides onto the lips easily. Double-check for any uneven pigmentation.
For around $7.00 you get 0.14 oz (4 grams) of product.
